The Phillips L12 decoy is the Green Beret's tool. It can be placed anywhere on the map and with the appropriate remote control the user can turn it on/off from a certain distance. It makes a loud noise which makes every enemy soldier within the range of sound to turn around towards it, or sometimes even go near it and examine it. Its very useful in situations of distracting enemy partols or enemy soldiers that are behind a wall. It can also be used by all the other Commandos as long as they carry it and the remote control with them. Its use was more common in Commandos:Behind Enemy Lines, as it was the only distracting tool possesed by the Commandos. In the later games the introduction of the cigarette item made it less common but still a handy piece of equipment. The Green Beret doesn't carry a decoy in Commandos:Strike Force .
