Shinano

The Shinano is an aircraft carrier that is used by the Japanese which appears only in Commandos 2: Men of Courage. It first appeared in the mission The Giant in Haiphong which can be sabotage by the commandos then appears in a full carrier appearance in Bonus Mission 7.

It contains 13 A6M Zero aircrafts, 11 green variants which are non-playable Japanese aircraft and 2 white variants for escaping.

Trivia

• It is based on a real-life Japanese aircraft carrier Shinano.
• The Shinano's interior can be accessible in Bonus Mission 7.
• In Commandos 2, the Shinano aircraft carrier is bombed and sunk by an air raid which is very inaccurate. However in real life, the Shinano was sunk by the USS Archerfish submarine on 29 November 1944.
